Description
Kreider trade doesn’t necessarily have to be to Boston or for that exact return. I chose Boston because that is one of the teams rumored to be in it for him (along with Colorado and Detroit). The return may not be exact, as it could be a 1st and a 3rd or something along those lines but I don’t think it will be like the Zuccarello return, where we made two big gambles and neither payed off.
The Ehlers trade was an idea I saw as I was exploring the internet and I liked it. What was suggested was DeAngelo for Ehlers, but I thought that was not fair to Winnipeg, so I adjusted it. Feel free to tell me if you feel differently.
Thoughts please.

That's a no from Boston. Not giving up those picks for a UFA in 20-21. Also Boston doesn't need another LW.

Forgot to mention that the trade would come with an extension, or else it would be just a first rounder for rental Kreider.
Also, if you read the description, you would have realized that I didn’t just choose Boston. It is rumored that they have interest in Kreider, along with Detroit, and Colorado. Focus was in the Ehlers trade anyway.

Per your description, Colorado is the best fit for Kreider. Really like the idea of him with Kadri on that 2nd line there. I don't think you're getting a 1st though b/c your cap situation is going to inhibit leverage you might otherwise have. Joe Sakic is not Jim Benning. That said, it's still a good potential move for you.

Winnipeg, I don't know how long Cheveldumboff is going to keep handing you great players, but might as well try. Ehlers would be a great get, and DeAngelo definitely has value, but if I'm WPG, I do NOT like Namestnikov as the add in. His production per AAV is too low to be seen as a value add. Strome may have more appeal to Winnipeg, as he is at least an upcoming RFA.

yeah not enough from Boston. Those are probably late round picks. You add Vaakanainen (quite literally the only prospect good enough to headline a deal from Boston) and that's in the ballpark.

Also you can just deal Skjei straight up for Ehlers...

I disagree that Kreider would definitely get a 1st rounder and maybe more.
As for the Winnipeg trade, I agree with you. Strome + DeAngelo + Conditonal 3rd for Ehlers is good imo.

Vaakanainen is potentially a top pairing D man. The 2020 draft is a very deep one. You’re not getting more for Kreider.
