Sounds fair

Kulikov could be dump with a 2nd : that sounds fair. But Reeves is more valuable to a team and his contract isn't that bad with only 1 year left. I see VGK getting something in return, like a 5th pick or a 4th if he's in demand.

Anyhow, if Reeves is worth a 4th, that's what Habs received for Deslauriers. It would be a nice upgrade going from Deslauriers to Reeves at RW and Habs would like a heavy hitter after losing Deslauriers, plus at RW.

With free cap space, you can get nice players at a low cost just because the player is overpaid for the team selling. I hope that's what Bergevin is looking for : getting players from teams like VGK, Winnipeg (Kulikov or Perrault), Calgary (Stone, Frolik, Brodie) or NYR (now that they have signed Panarin). Using your free cap space, you'll get players at a lower cost just like the Subban's trade, or just get picks to get a high contract (Kulikov).

I didn't think of Reeves but now that Deslauriers is gone, that's a good idea and that's probably what VGK is looking for : getting rid of Reeves and Holden would be enough for them. A rare good post!
