Description
Overpay Point at 13.5 mil for 1 year, TBL cant match, then work out a fair longterm deal after next season. With Larkin n Point you have your 1C, 2C locked down for the next decade. In my opinion, Veleno's floor at this point is a 3C, and if there are injuries you got AA, and then Ras(maybe at 3C) down the line. So we have the center depth. On to Defense, the Wings have acquired enough Dman prospects at this point to make up a good core for a longtime: Hronek, Seider, Cholo, Kaski, McIsaac, Lindstrom, Tuomisto, Regula, Setkov, Kotkansalo, Johansson, plus any UFA's. We might not have a Doughty or a Karlsson in the pipeline, but i dont think you absolutely need one to contend and win. You've got Seider: pretty safe floor of top 4 with top pairing potential. Hronek: floor, good top 4 with ceiling of top pairing. Cholo: floor, good offensive Dman, if he can put his Defensive game together hes got top 4 potential, with a pretty high ceiling. McIsaac: looks like he has a good chance at top 4 potential. Will see what Kaski can do. Johansson: Has high upside i guess, Hakan Anderson in the draft interview, said that he thinks hes gonna be better than Hronek, so will see. Then you got Lindstrom, Tuomisto, Regula, Setkov, Kotkansalo, who all have potential to be very solid defensively, with a couple having some offensive potential as well. And then you got pretty good depth on the wing, Mantha, Bert, Zadina, AA, Gusev, Ras, Hirose, Svech, Berggren, Ehn, Kivenmaki, Grewe, Masterosimone, Givani Smith, Soderblom,

Once Point signs for that his QO would be 13.5M next year as a RFA. If you don't offer him that QO next year he would become a UFA.

How about fixing that defense? DET has been drafting forwards like crazy, if there's any RFAs they should go after it'd be Werenski or McAvoy.

Nah read the description, we have drafted a lot of Defense in the 2-3 drafts. A 1C point 2C Larkin would make us better than adding Werenski or McAvoy.

I don't agree with offer sheeting point either, but the last draft they just drafted a whole bunch of defensemen plus I am liking what I am seeing in the defense from last draft.

Yeah, Point will definitely go from a contender for years to come, no state tax, paradisiac landscape to a rebuilding team whose city is one of the worst in the US.

Eh.

Not even silly money could convince him to do that

while most of what you said is right,

He already came out and said he isnt leaving Tampa, although, no players live INSIDE the city of Detroit, this is always annoying, they live in Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills ETC, those cities are awesome,
