Other than having Dermott on the left I think you have nailed the roster (hard to tell what support cast will come out of camp) and the lines. Mitch’s contract seems realistic.

You think he can pull this out now ? After no infamous Offer-sheets and Aho getting 5 x 8,4M ? Why would be Marner worth 2M more then a C with pretty much the same stats.......

I have a question. If you can have only one of the following players on your team, who would you take? Nylander for 6 years at 6.9 million dollar cap hit or Marner for 5 years at 10.5 million dollar cap hit?

I think for the first few months without Hyman and Dermott they'll experiment with Gauthier, Marincin, and Holl until they're fully healthy. Maybe move Moore or Kerfoot up to the second line and Johnsson to the top.

Marner for sure. Nylander is coming off a bad season and I think he's gonna have a breakout year, but I'd still take Marner any day.

TOR overpaid for all 3 of their other top forwards:

Nylander at 7 million, he should’ve gotten 6.
Tavares at 11 million should’ve gotten 10.
Matthews at 12 million should’ve gotten 10.5
Marner at 9 million is going to get 10.

That’s the way it works, you look at comparable from your team.

Because of his dad and agent. I don’t think Mitch is the one driving here.

Dubas has been on a bit of a hot streak lately. Getting marner in under 10m would be a massive win.

Keep in mind, Paul has stated that he wants 12 million on an 8 year deal plus the captaincy. If he doesn’t get that, his son will leave.

To be completely honest, nylander at 6.9m I think will be more bang for the buck in the long run.

Panarin had 7 fewer points than Marner yet got 11.6 million. So its somewhere between that and 8.5 million, my thinking its north of 10 million. Is he worth it? No, but they'll have to pay him that.

Nylander, you are wrong here, hes legitimate 6,7M, his overpayment is minimal
Tavares, generational player getting offered 13M from SJS, took 11M to play at TML
Matthews, couldnt agree more with you here, the rest of the TML fan base is claiming hes not and i dont have a clue.
Marner....lets see...

Tavares should have got 13m as he was offered that from the sharks.

Nylander should have been 6.75m got 6.96m

Matthews gets a blank cheque, period.

Why can’t he leave? If they can’t come to an agreement, the Leafs can just trade his RFA rights to a team that wants him. Marner’s dad has already made it clear that he’d be willing to take less money to play for any other team but Toronto, because the organization has disrespected him.

In what way has he disrespected him? It's a business, and Marner is loved by the organization and fan base. He's not going anywhere. No one is going to offer sheet him 11 million (what 4 first round picks?) and the Leafs have no intention on ruining the chemistry he has with Tavares.

I have spoken to many girls and they all told me that they would rather have Nylander on their team over Marner. If they can only keep one of them, it’s Nylander all day long because he is more worth his contract and has elite chemistry with Matthews. What’s going on here?

Paul feels disrespected because last summer, Marner’s camp suggested they give Mitch an 8 year contract worth 72 million. The Leafs refused, they didn’t believe Marner was at that level and told them to hold out for another year to prove he was worth 9 million. Now a year has passed and Marner has established himself as the best winger on the team. Along with the cap inflation, it seems that the Leafs’ decision to not sign Marner last year was a huge mistake. Now, Paul is making sure to give Dubas a very hard time.

Do you think the Leafs can trade Marner for Parayko one for one?

I think it’s more than a fair offer but I don’t think the blues want that trade.

Like I said, the deal is already tilted in the blues favour but I don’t think they have the cap space or the want for marner.
