thats going to be a big time No from the Avs. Not giving up Kaut and Avs have already have did a lot of turn over from their Roster and making a guy like Donskoi play the 4th line who is signed to be a middle 6 guy and you trade for Burakovsky to be in your top 6. This is just foolish moves

I’m not an Avs fan, but do you really think Donskoi and Burakovsky are the answers to what you guys needed for scoring depth after the first line? The Donskoi deal will not age well, that’s too much money for a 25 point guy. Burakovsky is no sure thing, I think it was another foolish acquisition. I understand wanting to protect the prospects but inevitably teams in the Avs position always sacrifice something to add those pieces they think will get them over the top. Kadri is a good start but I wouldn’t expect the others to play top 6 on a Cup team unless maybe Jost steps up. The Colorado window is open now, if I were them I would want more than they have.

As a Rangers fan, I would gladly accept this trade. I’d like more but I don’t expect Colorado to sacrifice anything more and the Rangers need to move some salary out to fit Panarin and Trouba

Kaut / Calvert and that conditional 2nd is for Kreider....

Ranta + 3rd is not even in the ballpark for Buchnevich.

This trade isn't hard

Kreider + Buch for Kaut + Newhook + 1st + Calvert

The idea of making trade offers is to offer something that benefits both teams and might get accepted. Ya can’t ask Colorado for their entire system. They just refused Kreider for the 16th pick (Newhook) so there’s no chance they’re going to cough up their top two forward prospects and a first.

Did you see who was running wing last year? both these guys are step up. I do agree that they're not bonafide top6 scorers but they will both out score wilson or ghetto. I'd be willing to bet we get the same production out of donskoi that the leafs get out of kerfoot plus we get a more physical presence with donskoi, something we were missing last season.
Bura will be a shorter contract, since it's kind of a gamble but if he hits 40 points for us that's just another 40 points we didn't have before. we've had a lot of draft picks over the past couple years so we could burn a 2nd and a 3rd it's not that big of deal. It's possible a change of scenery is all he needs. if not in 2 years we will have a couple more prospects ready to make the jump and take his place.
Odds are kreider will want around 7 mil in an extension and if we were willing to shell out that money i think we would have went with lee this off season. So it's possible we go after him at the deadline to load up for playoffs if someone isn't working but we aren't going to give up prospects for a rental

Everyone gives up prospects and picks for a rental, whether the fans like it or not, it happens every year. Only asking for a 1st if Kreider signs the extension allows the Avs to trial him this year, add a 5th piece to their top 6 and experienced scoring depth that they don’t have. It makes them among the favorites in the West as opposed to a wild card team they were last season. If they don’t like the cost for extension, they walk away only giving up a prospect for one run at a Cup.
