Mcquaid is awful and that's an 8 year contract for marner. He isnt better then stone, kucherov or Aho. Especially for 5 years he should be making the same or less the 8.5

Toronto is better then last year, so they should if everyone is healthy. Kerfoot likely doesn't get suspended, so they have all their centres.

IMO the Aho contract sets the standard for Marner.. Marner statistically was 14 points better than Aho. I see a 9.5 million contract for him considering the fact that he has been Toronto's leading point producer the past two seasons. IMO I also see anywhere from 3, 5 or 8 years.. It all depends what the two sides agree to obviously. Who ever thought Matthews would take 5 years or even Aho for that matter. He is worth more money than Nylander and could get Matthews money if not for the Aho contract.

As for McQuaid, who needs anything spectacular from your 5-6 pairing other than playing smart in the defensive zone and adding some toughness which Toronto has shown to be missing the past couple of years. Looking at the top 4, there will not be a great deal of ice time for the 5-6 guys anyway IMO
