No way LA does that, technically they are paying Marner $14 million if you take into account the Doughty retained salary and that is retained salary for 8 years. Never going to happen

Agree with nchest. I guess the question is would the Leafs want cap flexibility or Doughty for 8 years. Besides NMC Doughty isn't leaving his home in California

That is still way better than paying Doughty 11 million when he's 35, he won't be worth 5 at that time. Terrible trade for TO. Never move an asset as valuable as a 22 year old star winger for a depreciating asset.
