I am neither a Habs fan or Isles fan but that deal is just pure ridiculous. Also, that Mitch Marner offersheet, which I doubt the Leafs would match, will totally mess up your cap situation, which I guess can only benefit Toronto when they hit the Isles back with a Matthew Barzal offer sheet

There are at least two other ways (LTIR Ladd, trading Leddy) to clear cap than sending our best defenseman and solid young player for that return
