Hyman + Petan are worth more than a 4th.

Hyman is probably safe though since he plays with Tavares and Marner. I would look for Ceci to get traded for a cheaper RHD option if we need space.

One of the big problems that I don't think a lot of people understand is that you can't put Horton on LTIR until after the season starts. Therefore you have to find 5.3 Mil worth of cap space to be under the upper limit at the start of the season.

If be chance the Leafs matched that 12.5m the Leafs would be 3.5m over the cap. So the trade might be trading Ceci for a third and somehow believing you can 1m competent NHL Dman replacing Ceci. Gott think the Leafs would decline matching. Keep the four first rounders and have 9m in cap space. Maybe don't spend all that 9m this year but soon.

you can go 10% over cap during offseason. you can hit up to 89.65 and they would come in at around 85/86 ish i believe w this 21 man roster.

Yes over the off season you can be up to 10% over but the day the season starts you have to be under. But you can't put Horton on LTIR until after the season starts. That is my understanding anyway. Toronto and Vegas are two team that this greatly effects this season.

dont think so, or people would be talking about it more. i dont think they have to wait X amount of games until they can do it. that just sounds stupid
