May want to rename this the Marner nightmare in 11 months when you have no cap space to fill your roster and resign your RFA's.

Buyout Lucic + cap increase is enough to give Domi and Mete extension......or worst case you trade one player in the roster

You took on Lucic's ridiculous contract and the following year you will not be able to afford Domi. Pretty simple. You need to sign 7 more people next year with 8.5 million. Even if cap goes up a couple of million, and you buy out Lucic, you don't come close to having the cap space to sign Domi, and you make matters worse with Lucic's contract. You are making the Montreal fan base look like idiots.

Cap increase + (3m)
Mason buyout clear (1,37m)

Goaliefrown+0,850m)
Primeau instead of Kinkaid (+ 850k)

Defense: (+3,2m)
Mete bridge contract 2,2m / 3 years (- 1,5m)
Trade Petry (Fleury or Brooks take his spot) ( +4,7m)

Domi best case scenario if he had a great season 8m/8 years (-4,85m)

Looks like you finally figured out that a Lucic buyout gains you next to nothing in the first year. So now your most recent proposal is to get rid of Montreal's 2nd best defenseman without being able to take anything back except draft picks. And have 6 years of dead cap to show for it plus creating serious cap issues going forward for the 2021-2022 season when KK, Poehling, Gallagher, Daneault, Murray contracts all up for renewal. Yes, just a brilliant move getting Lucic and amazing long term vision for cap hell.
