Vesey and Strome both had 35 points for NYR last season and have similar contracts. Vesey costed BUF a 3rd. Shattenkirk will likely cost nothing if a team would take his full salary.

So this would be like trading Risto + Nylander + 2nd to NYR for what equals about a 3rd round pick.

id take this deal as a rangers fan. Id think the rangers would probably retain some salary on shattenkirk though to get that pick.

Strome is being underestimated here. However this trade is lopsided in Rangers favor. And I'm a Ranger fan.
