LMAO! What is this? Girardi is worse than Ceci, the guy can’t move the puck and will end up stuck in his own end every shift. Yet you’re paying him 4 million? I like Williams but why not trade Marner to the Caps for Wilson? He’d fit the Leafs system much better and be a long term asset.

Why not trade Marner for Wilson? Would rather have the four first rounders than Wilson for four years. Yes I understand not having Girardi...but I idea is to short term and sign the guys you really want next year. Gotta believe without Marner, Marleau, Gardiner, Zaitsev and Hainsey, the Leafs aren't gong to be as good as last year year anyway. Set up your team for 2020/21.

As much as I do not like these one year signings, it makes a ton of sense for next year.

Capitals wouldn’t trade Wilson for marner. You can have Oshie or Hagelin hah

Actually I was just thinking this idea lines up with my ACGM question about this coming season being a punt year.

I’m sure the Caps would do it in a heart beat especially if it wasn’t one for one. You don’t pass up the opportunity to get a player of Mitch Marner’s caliber. He’ll help Ovie get 70 goals a season.

No. Leafs have good to adequate wingers, ThinkHall will cost too much as he approaches age 30. Was thinking more along the lines defence,,,,Reilly, Dermot, Sandin, Liljegern, surely the Leafs can find spend 10m or so and get 3 quality Dman,

With 10M left and if we are overpaying short-term i would go with

1x 3,5M - Vanek
1x 3,5M - Pominiville
1x 2M - Kronwall

and next year all in on D :
