Final part coming tonight with breakdown of all teams involved especially Montreal's.
Trades
VAN
  1. Friberg, Max
Additional Details:
2016 1st round pick (6th overall)
2016 3rd round pick (69th overall)

Analysis: Montreal is basically overpaying you just to make sure you don't select Dubois and you take one of either Brown or Nylander instead. There are some who believe Benning wants a Dman but i just don't see them passing up on one of Tkachuk or Dubois at #5.
MTL
  1. Burrows, Alexandre
Additional Details:
2016 1st round pick (5th overall)

Burrows will waive his no trade for Montreal because he from there and Mtl would actually play him in a top 6 role for the final year of his contract and not buy him out.

The Sedins would be pissed with Dorsett. Purcell would be a solid, 2nd tier option in UFA

Sorry to nitpick, but Montreal has the 9th overall pick, not the 6th. Having said that your trade isn't bad, but only if the Canucks use the money they saved dumping Burrows to sign a scoring winger in free agency. At #9 the Canucks would very likely take a Dman or Brown if he's still on the board.

I didn't do any lineups. This was simply a question regarding the trade.

See my description bud! wink This is a chain of AGM's that Im showing from the other teams perspectives. Culminating in a final Montreal AGM with all the trades added to it and the final product shown.

So there was another thread you made where the Habs acquired the 6th overall pick?

It's a lot of moving parts and effort. In terms of this specific MTL-VAN trade, I'd rather a 2nd round pick over a 3rd and Friberg.

MTL is literally moving up one spot. That does not justify the cost. The whole point was that we were already overpaying with the 3rd rounder and a B prospect in Friberg, all so you could take any player in the draft not names Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi, Tkachuk or Dubois. Since 4 of those aren't going to be available anyway, i think we're over paying you enough already. Don't get greedy now.
