With Fabbro taking over Subban's spot next season, I doubt the Preds would entertain any deal for him unless it was ridiculous overpay. I think there are much better team fits out there for William Nylander, if the Leafs actually wanted to get rid of him. And FYI, there is no way Jeremy Bracco will ever see top line duties next season. I find it very hard to believe Bracco will even be a Leaf by the end of the offseason, Mike Babcock does not like his game.

Way overpayment for Nylander. He needs to rebound before you ask for top talent for him.

I don't understand why he traded Nylander for Fabbro and didn't even put him in the starting lineup

I dealt WN for a good prospect to cut down the cap. There were other deals I could of made but i wanted to deal him for a low cost young player. I didn;t put him in the lineup becasue I forgot it was for the following year in which yes he would be in the lineup.

yes he needs to rebound but hes proven himself enough to be someone teams would pay a fair amount for.

yes there are other options, i wanted to go cheap for cap reasons. i would like to know who your sources are that say Babs doesnt like bracco's game. keep in mind this is for the 20-21 season, yes he can see top line minutes especially if AM does want to play with KK.

At his salary he is a risk for teams. One thing this year with the cap not going up as much as expected smart teams will be more cautious with their trades and free agent signings. It is going to be what have you done lately instead of what you did 2 or 3 years ago. Yes some GM's will play fast and loose, but their is always a price to pay.

On a side note, why is it Toronto fans always speak about what Nylander did two years ago to justify his salary and what Leafs can get in a trade but bag on Marner wanting his share after he was thr team's leading scorer last year? Just seems backwards to me.

IMO, Nylander has a bounce back year, puts up 70+ and that 6.9 contract is a bargain and the leafs don't even listen to any trades for him OR he doesn't have a bounce back year and he doesn't command a package anywhere close to that. Either way, I don't think he's getting moved.

agreed but I am not one to think Marner is asking for too much. I am game if he gets 11 per. WN is justified because it's not like hes on the wrong side of 30. He will produce. Why do some hockey fans count him out after a bad half year?

Because out of Barrie Muzzin and Ceci only Barrie will get resigned and guys like Liljegren and maybe Sandin will get the spot and even then they will be in a cap crunch

Not really. Barrie, Muzzin, Ceci will clear almost 12m in cap space. cap will probably go up 2-2.5, Barrie will take up 7.5ish, they still have 6-7m to work with.
