I don't understand why people never post their sources for something like this.

It was a rumor from someone on Twitter who claims to have sources, but none of the legitimate sources have picked it up and it’s been 6 hours. The same guy was saying a few days ago that Marner was re-signing with the Leafs and he also had the Isles on the verge of submitting an OS to Marner at the same time.... seems like likely bull crap.

What good is Marner to Montreal? Ten max if they did and if he accepts. Tor would have to match it.

It is, but it's the exact same thing. It's become Second Nature to NHL Fans to make False rumors. It's a false hope for some NHL Fans. It keeps them going in a way.

Yeah it sucks but what do you expect when the offseason is as lame as this. This offseason was predicted to be the craziest in years because of all these teams trying to make a "St Louis-like push for the cup" and so far it's really been a dud.

St.Louis made a huge push last offseason, but it was relatively slow when it came to TDL, so I expected it to be a rather more exciting Offseason, and it hasn't.

I thought many teams would buy into themselves and be more aggressive, besides MTL's offer sheet (Which was matched), there really hasn't been much chatter. Teams are too afraid of change, and while I don't want the NHL turning into the NBA, I much rather see teams make more moves rather than just overpaying free agents every season.

Be careful where you are hearing these "rumors" from. Already one "Insider" got busted real hard for calling out Don Cherry. There are very few people that truly know anything about Mitch Marner's situation.

Think Montreal at the cap with Marner just makes an offer sheet a non starter.
