I don't think they want to trade him but right now Vegas has negative cap space lol. They would need to make other moves to make him fit.

I mean he is enticing to add to any roster but he chose Vegas over the entire league and now basically has to be traded because he priced himself out of playing there. So basically Vegas was the best salesmen and now they are going to acquire something from another team to send him away. Be interesting how it works out

They have to make moves anyways, Holden and Reeves gone and they can sign everyone they need

That is the nature of all negotiations, explore all options increases your negotiation power. Just because Vegas is looking into his trade value does not mean he will be traded. They knew the ballpark of what he was looking for when they brought him over, why trade Haula if you intended to trade Gusev too? Makes no sense in any universe. Vegas has the best whiz kid in the business in Tom "General Fanager" Poraszka

We went from 6 russians when Claude Julien took over
to Romanov who's yet to play for him .

all other Russians who played for Claude were moved ,waived or left a free agent
i just dont see why he'd take on Gusev when Radulov and Galchenyuk werent up to his standards .
same thing happened in BOS , Sobotka was the first victim of Claude's new Primarily Canadian roster.

According to the athletic the asking price is a 2nd and a late pick or low tier prospect. Id agree that it seems sort of low but keep in mind Vegas doesnt have much leverage right now.

Gusev might have nice stats but hes also played with superstars at every level. He could pan out but its a higher risk than most people realize. He also doesnt speak english at all and needs a translator, can’t see that meshing well with the rest of the locker room.. he wouldn’t be my first target for MTL
