Rangers Moving Forward

Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Team Explanation
This team still feels incredibly weak (most places, but especially) down the middle. We have a lot of "Center" prospects but still many more questions than answers. IDK that Granlund adequately fills the role of a 2C on a true contending team, but I'm at a loss at the moment. Seemed like a better bet than Dzingel. NSH gets at least 1 year of Kreider at 50% salary. Kreider does what they got Simmonds for but in a style much more suited for today's NHL. They also get Buchnevich who will provide even more depth scoring for a few years at least, with a reasonable cap hit. They're also in the position of having too many 2-3 C types, so perhaps they don't lose much. I understand everyone's reluctance to trade away Tolvanen, but I did it anyway.

DeAngelo is given a 1y contract to show he can consistently play the way played through stretches of last season.

Colorado is reunited with Shattenkirk at the deadline if Fox works his way into the lineup.
Colorado uses him as a 3rd pairing guy/power play specialist to help out on their PP2. The AVs are in a position to be able to make this type of move. They also have a revolving door of bottom pairing guys that take turns on IR.

Strome is a potential to move at the deadline as well, if he plays as well as he did for us last season. I don't think he fits in our long term plans either.

a LOT of things need to go just right for this team to be in the playoff race, but I think this lineup creates an environment that will be a better catalyst for the potential success of our "kids".

I tried to overpay in my eyes so it's not such a steal in the eyes of those who are more objective.
