bold plan but i dont think they would be willing to give up some their core players no matter how you sweeten the pot, but i think you might have to throw in one more guy they can throw in the line, but if I was florida I would still say no, since Ekblad is a D , and the going price for D is diamonds.

Also florida only has 5.4 mil left to the cap limit, no way they can sign marner

I think both teams say no. Marner would command too much money for Florida. Leafs wouldn't want to lose Johnsson due to his team friendly deal and solid top 6 role, Liljegren due to his unlimited upside I doubt he gets moved until his true potential is more apparent, and Ekblad with his injuries and underperformance is one giant question mark. Huberdeau is solid, but has also underperformed until last season.

Leafs probably try and steal more than that for any sort of Marner deal.
Florida doesn't want to give up their #1 pick and their top winger, or sign Marner.

Cameron puts it well above (except I think he's underselling Huberdeau) but I also want to point out I'd be nervous spending big to get ekblad (cost being Marner here) given the concussions. I know Cameron above mentioned injuries just emphasizing.

Solid player, but TBD if he pans out as a #1 guy, or even a top pairing guy for that matter. Injuries could also end his career far too early due to the amount of concussions he has had. He's a risk. I don't think many teams would give up a huge package to take a chance on him right now, and I don't think Florida would take anything but a massive package to let him go.
