1) Laine is RW, and RW only. That's the point with snipers, you can't really playing them off-wing. He usually moves to the left side when in O-zone to try one-timers, but he must play right side most of the time. Then we end up with too much RW. Laine, Caufield, Gallagher and Suzuki (and other should be there, like Ylonen for instance), this is a waste of talent on the right side IMO.

2) If you want Laine, you should add a more. Drouin, Juulsen and a 1st is not enough. The above proposal for Drouin, Juulsen, two 1st, a conditional 2nd and a 3rd is maybe a little too much. I would see something in between. Something like the equivalent of compensation picks for a RFA offer sheeted at 10,45 M$ (1st, 2nd, 3rd) + a prospect.

3) Harvey-Pinard is a reach there. So many guys will probably be there before him. I see Ikonen, Ylonen, Olofsson, Vejdemo, Evans more likely (even if they are all C except Ylonen).

4) Struble is only 17, he is a long term project. He will need a year or two in the NCAA. I honestly think we will not see him before 22-23 or maybe 23-24.

1)depends on how mobile they are .
Ex: Radulov learned to play his off wing using his feet to create room

2)if WPG moves out Laine they're gonna want a top 6 replacement but i agree somewhere in between . i overpayed because WPG had the leverage in the deal

3)Agreed

4) Agreed

i suppose that stands to reason , its just if you look at your team after this year your Dcore is Reilly as Ceci ,Muzzin,Barrie ,Holl and Marincin are UFA's in summer 2020 .

Sandin and Lilgren should be ready by the time most of the UFA's leave and Demott who's a RFA you'll likely retain .
its pretty close but you're likely not going to keep Muzzin,Barrie or Ceci .

i just think you're a Gostisbhere ,Brodie or Petry away from being a cup winning team .
CHI played a 5 and 4 man system in 2013 and 2015 relying the most heavily on their top 4 to all play 23+ minutes with Keith reaching 31minutes in the cup run.

TML needs to find a dominant PP specialist who can play Right side and help chew up the minutes for your 2 young guns sheltering them from being pushed through their development like you were mentioning . i think Gostisbhere would be perfect for TML with him and Reilly both playing LD and RD they could constantly cycle to mess with match ups and create space . If you could turn a Nylander into a Gostisbhere and a Strome or Ratcliffe then TML gets better ,deeper and ready for a cup run

I here what your saying! But personally i think one of Marner or Nylander eventually get traded (Nylander most likely once Marner's situation is figured out..unless they cant? lol) as it just makes too much sense. We will target a partner for Reilly with one of those two. I don't think ghost would be a goid fit for us (LHD who isn't overly physical) but I get where you going with this and like it. Dermot is a good dman, just depending on the price and term as to what else we could do. Reilly doesn't do well on his offside otherwise Muzzin would be paired with him. I think it depends on what else we do this off-season (I think where done though) and at the trade deadline. But thankssmile i also think Montreal is a really good team even without Duchenne (who I was hoping you would sign) or Aho. Dont forget cap space is the most important commodity in the NHL.

i hope MTL don't give all that just for Laine . i little remender Drouin made more pts then Laine last year . and Drouin have a streak of 1 pts in 24 game, if we scream at Drouin what do you think we are gonna do with Laine.

honestly it makes more sense for both teams if MTL acquires Ehlers .

we could move out something like Danault ,Lehkonen and a 2nd for Ehlers and Copp
WPG gets a legit 3rd Center who can take 1500-1800 faceoffs winning 53-55% while contributing 40-50pts
(the majority of which are even strength points )

MTL gets a legit top 6 wing partner who has chemistry with Drouin and would be perfect duo to play/grow with Poehling

Tatar-Kotkanemi-Gallagher
Domi-Copp-Cousins
Drouin-Poehling-Ehlers
Byron-Thompson-Armia
Weal

Mete-Weber
Chariot-Brook
Romanov -Juulsen
Fleury

Lindgren

trade Tatar for picks at TDL this year for a late 1st and a B+ or A- prospect just coming off Waiver Exempt Status like a Ho-Sang type player MTL can insert into the 3rd line with Copp and Cousins after Domi gets promoted to the top line post Tatar. IF Suzuki breaks out at the AHL level then we'll trade Armia or Byron to make room placing Suzuki on 3rd line with Copp and Ho-sang and Cousins with Thompson and Byron of 4th .

by year 2 our top 6 will be dominant and our bottom 6 will be a combination of speed and skill with some grit .
