If Forsberg is the backup ahead of Ned, I will go ballistic. Either way it looks like Reimer is here to stay. The Bennett trade.... I don 't hate it, I don't love it. I'm not sold on Sam Bennett, especially considering he'd be above Necas in the lineup Here.

It’s impractical to rush Necas. He’ll be 2C at some point but he needs to be brought along slowly. If you pair him with Haula, he can find his NHL footing and at some point swap positions while retaining the chemistry that they will develop. The patient approach was also successful with Svechnikov. It wasn’t about his rookie year, it was about his long term development.

The patient approach with Svech would have been to send him back to the OHL, don't forget that. Necas has had 3 years since he's been drafted, he's looked too good for Charlotte. We had him up on the 3rd line last year and it was not worth his ice time. Necas needs top 6 ice time, and Bennett is not a top 6 forward. It makes no sense to have Sam Bennett over Necas. A good comparison I've heard for Bennett is Zach Boychuk. His game looks good, he just can't breakout. Look at where Boychuk is now, I wouldn't want to take the risk on Bennett. He's had a much better supporting cast over in Calgary than we can offer him in Carolina, don't risk the trade

Do you know what position he played in the Calder Cup final? I stand by my lineup and you’re entitled to your opinion, I just don’t happen to share it.
