I'd rather have the guy 5 years younger, the top scoring AHL'er and the draft pick.

But Segiun's $ are an interesting comparable

Something around Marner and Seguin would be interesting, but even if the Leafs had to add, it wouldn't be that much. I would just like Marner at the same contract, but doesn't look like it will happen

I actually find this really interesting. First off I think Marner is the better player with the higher ceiling. Seguin just started to come into his own over the last year or so, evolving into a player that helps you win, not just a player that scores outside goals. Then you get into the contract stuff, and any time you're acquiring a player who just signed long term in a tax free market, chances are, you're getting a bargain...good on you vancouver canucks. anyhow, then does seguin waive his NMC? On the one hand, he's from ontario, but on the other, he loses like 16 million dollars.
