oh my goodness! what an original concept! I totally haven't seem 5,000,000 of these before!

Sarcasm aside, I would rather have Debrusk than Barzal. He's so one dimensional, and I really think that 80 point year might be the best he does. When required to occasionally pay attention in his own end, he isn't that dynamic.

Except you can't just assume that NOTHING else changes by changing those three picks. The odds are that after those three picks the draft boards of all teams change. Every season, game & shift changes. Some players will develop better with their news teams and others will struggle. These half baked, hindsight 20/20 ACGM's are just lazy takes.

Oh I totally agree, just fun to imagine while board at work. I'm not even a Bruins fan, I just find entertainment in "what could have been"

But the possibilities are endless with more variables than we can imagine. Change those 3 picks and remove every player that Boston has drafted, signed or acquired because who knows if they'd still be here.

Barzal is good, but Jake is better. Somehow not only 5on5 but the PP as well, he's pretty good in front of the net as is, and with time I think his hand-eye and game sense can help him develop into an elite PP-producer

Chabot is hindsight and they had a bad interview with Barzal, the one that drives me crazy to this day is Connor. Sweeney loves college players, I'm pretty sure they only scout NCAA, but this year of all years they take the OHL kid?? Infuriating.

and an OHL kid that they could have gotten in the second round. Oh well. I said literally the day of the draft that if they had taken Carlo at 15 and Sensyhyn at 36 I would have been happy. I'll just pretend that's what they did.

I wouldn’t call Barzal and Connor hindsight though. EVERYBODY knew they were going to be good at the time. As for my thoughts on it:

Zboril, meh. He was the best player on the board at the time and the bruins needed D. Not going to blame the GM for him not developing.

Debrusk, too one dimensional right now but he has the potential to be elite. I can see him being 30-35 goal scorer with a couple 40 goal seasons.

SENYSHYN, zero f*cking excuse. Projected 2nd round pick and they take him at 15. Say what you want about barzal, Connor, Chabot, whatever, I take all of those over senyshyn in a heartbeat. Even said it immediately after they made that pick.

I was yelling at my TV for them to take barzal+Connor, especially barzal when they got to pick 15. I really wouldn’t call this hindsight when a lot of people, including myself, knew that the bruins messed up by not at least taking one of them.

I usually agree with you but I have to disagree here. With bergy and Krejci nearing retirement it would be really nice to have Barzal as a sure-thing top 6 center.

However barzal vs debrusk shouldn’t really be the conversation. They should’ve taken barzal over senyshyn in a heartbeat.

i would prefer connor, boeser, or chabot over brazal. just another one dimensional player.

It’s close. He has time to develop more to his game though. He gets a + for me because he’s a natural center.

Debrusk is one dimensional right now too. Some guys take time. I think barzal will be a great player in the league.

debrusk is so far from one dimensional. good defensively. great forechecker.

barzal is a natural center that isn't that great at playing center.

We are all well aware. Every team could do the same for every draft. ??‍♂️

Hell 2011 they took Khoklachev in the 2nd over Kucherov and Anthony Camara in the 3rd over Gaudreau. Even worse than 2015.

Not worse. People only are mad about 2015 because the guys they took were projected to go later, and the guys they passed on were the best on the board.
