Detroit wants absolutely nothing to do with Beleskey he to old to fit in to Detroit's rebuild. Plus he isn't worth the roster spot he'd be taking from a prospect.

In theory the Rangers wont have to sign any of their other important players for 2 or 3 years while the cap rises and they get rid of bad contracts

I know but your 6th for Detroit's 7th maybe 10 spots between those 2 picks isn't worth it. A 31yr old who sent more time in the AHL than the NHL over the last 3 seasons and the only thing he would do is take a roster spot from a prospect that is already better than him.

Beleskey cleared waivers in Boston before he was traded to The Rangers in February of 2018. Beleskey cleared waivers again in October of 2018. and was sent down to the on Dec. 3 2018 and Dec. 18 2018. If a player is exposed to waivers that much in a year and no one has claimed him chances no one is going to trade for him.

Cmon Oilers aren't given two lottery picks. Calgary can't take all the cap....and no thanks to Smith. Staal ain't waiving to Ottawa. Teams don't take non value cap dumps just so Rangers can sign players.
