You can't just put guys on LTIR because you don't like their contract.

Both are injured and could be put on LTIR.

Miller broken knee cap. He will be close to returning at the beginning of the season
Moore - messed up shoulder. I believe he will be out until Nov. (?)

They will need to do something as soon as they are back to clear space.

Sure you can. During training camp practice, have someone "accidentally" shove them into the boards head first. Problem solved.

That's absurdly high for Carlo/McAvoy, maybe if you go 8 on Carlo and 6 on McAvoy

I think this is a pretty realistic option, and it could kind of swing Backes towards thinking that he's got some health issues that will cause him to go on LTIR.
Couple issues. If this stays as is, one of Miller or Moore would have to be moved. However, I don't think that's an issue, because for these terms you waaaaaay overpaid Carlo and overpaid McAvoy a smidge.

I'm a Carlo superfan, but find me a d man that averaged 10 points a season that got over 5 million dollars on a BRIDGE. Maybe if it's an 8 year deal, but a bridge? no way. Bridge should be 3x3. Maybe 3x3.5. Normally, I would think that deal is pretty spot on for McAvoy bridging, but he's a group 1 RFA. He doesn't really have any negotiating rights. 4x5 seems fair to me.

yeah you can bury backes but miller and moore will have to play eventually so they need to make some descisions and move one of them atleast. They definitely need to subtract someone from the blue line. the carlo deal is pretty crazy but you know that.
