I like this singing for the Canucks. I wonder who's on the move, they need more cap space for Boeser.

I'm surprised Ferland didn't get signed sooner and for more money. Wasn't he rumored to fetch a 1st at the deadline? 3.5M is a pretty good AAV for what he brings. Very good 3rd liner with the potential to move up the lineup.

Good value if Ferland can stay healthy, 3.5 is nice for middle 6 forward with snarl, crazy to think of his rumored contract demands from the beginning of the season to now.

Me too. This really makes the PIT signing of Tanev look bad, doesn't it? They're very similar players in terms of physicality, but Ferland is decidedly better offensively. I think Benning has had a terrific summer so far, especially when compared to last summer.

Yeah, I think this signing shows a real lack on the part of the penguins who just rushed out and got "their guy"
JR does that stupid crap all the time. He's like an old man with anxiety issues or something. This would have been a much better fit for the penguins especially at this contract.

That’s exactly where I had his contract coming in at. I reckon he may have had a better offer at some point in the last 2 weeks but he waited too long, thinking there would be something better. In the end, this was the best he could get as most teams are running out of functional cap space. Canucks too, as they may have to rearrange things to accommodate their last two RFA’s (Boeser and Goldobin) who will likely come in at $8.5-10M combined constrasted with ~$7.5M in cap space (once 3-4 bodies are trimmed from the present roster).

The twin $6M Erickson (3y left) and Myers (5y left!!!) are gonna be anchors for this franchise from becoming truly elite. Bending should be fired over the latter one, IMHO.

Value is good but would be better with 1-2 years less on the term. There are some concerns with his past injury history and his playoffs weren't exactly great either. But they did make sure his contract allows for being made available in the expansion draft so it migh work out anyways.

Why does Vancouver have 9 bottom six forwartds? (not including ELC players).
Why do these 9 players have a combined cap hit of $35,000,000? ($3,900,000 each).
Why are most of them signed to multi year contracts?

I had wanted Knights to draft this guy in expansion before he ended up protected... I think Kings got a better value getting Iaffalo or so for 2 years w/ less money smile. Vancouver is stuck w/ Louie Ericksson or so or they would be in much better shape smile... What a bust turd that guy turned out to be, bet Boston wished they still had Seguin when they got whipped in nearly ever game in SCF refs didn't suspend some Blues player for BS smile.
