Great, so the articles you just cited prove my point, congratulations...he's a group 2 RFA, that due to not having played over 40 games in his first year, is not eligible to receive an offer sheet...where in these articles does it say that he is group 1? Group1 would mean that he is still on his ELC...he is not...He received a qualifying offer from the Bruins (because he is a group 2 RFA), that as long as he doesn't sign, is free to sit out until an agreement is reached...soooo yes, you are ignorant.

sigh. All group 2 RFAs are eligible for offer sheets. Have a good day buddy. You just don't get this and are very unwilling to learn about it, so I'm tapping out.

This is right out of the article that you sent me "The only possible issue with burning the first year of McAvoy’s ELC is that his restricted free agency clock is moved up a year. But even if McAvoy does become an RFA after the 2018-19 season, he will have fewer than three years of accrued experience due to the 40-game rule. The current CBA states that no other team would be able to sign McAvoy to an offer sheet due to having less than three full seasons under his belt. Essentially, when McAvoy becomes an RFA, he will either need to sign the Bruins’ qualifying offer or sit out until he agrees to a long-term deal."

Just LOL

that is accurate, although I would amend it to say he could agree to a short term deal too. I don't think you know what lol means. you haven't said one funny or clever thing yet.

So then we're in agreement, Group 2 RFA with no possibility of being offer sheeted...holy F that was exhausting.

negative. He is group 1. All group 2 RFAs can be offer sheeted. FOR EXAMPLE:
Meier was a group 2 RFA that didn't play the 40 games for his first season to count towards an accrued season for UFA purposes, yet he played the 10 games so he was offer sheet eligible.

It's a complicated document. Read up a bit and you'll get it.

Nope Group 1 RFAs must be on their ELCs by definition and cannot be paid more than what is set out in their table (example 2019 max is $925,000)

"The maximum annual aggregate Paragraph 1 NHL Salary, Signing Bonuses and
games played bonuses permitted to be paid to a Group 1 Player"
Draft Year NHL Compensation
2005 US$ 850,000
2006 US$ 850,000
2007 US$ 875,000
2008 US$ 875,000
25
ARTICLE 9 9.4-9.4
Draft Year NHL Compensation
2009 US$ 900,000
2010 US$ 900,000
2011 - 2022 US$ 925,000

Right back at you

Nope, there is no such thing as a Group 1 RFA in the CBA...only group 2 and group 4 RFA. Group 1 player it is.

your source is your understanding of the CBA. A large section of the CBA isn't available to the public you know. My source is parts of the CBA, NHL GMs, the most respected reporters, etc. your only source is you.

Again...making up BS...the full CBA is available for download on the NHLPA website...you have no argument so you're reduced to "parts of the CBA, NHL GM's and the most respected reporters" with no substantial evidence to back up your claims...this is just getting sad

Nashville doesn't need Krug, They already have the best D core around. Krug will want between $8 to $9 million per to sign. No way Nashville gives him that much.
