why? dickinson is an ECHL player at 21 (couldn't make it in AHL)-- so essentially it's a 2nd for Kreider with retained, easy easy pass

i'm not so much interested in the trade and what we get for Kreider, its more about removing his cap hit. Its unlikely we will bring back a NHLer for him because the cap space is tight. Just thought COL is a good place for him as they have cap room and i dont think we'll get a 1st for him.

This is not a dream its a nightmare. Contracts are way off, terms are weird and that trade is barf.

we will get a 1st, don't worry. People said we wouldn't get a 1st for Hayes (got a 1st +), 1st for Nash (we got a 1st+), 2nd for Grabner (2nd +) etc etc.. JG does a good job, it would be more beneficial to keep kreider for the year than give him up for that package. Some desperate team at the deadline will overpay for him. Worst case, he pushes bottom 6 people into bottom 6 roles, letting them develop into higher ones

We wont do the same as we did last year with Zuccs and Hayes. (well Hayes was pretty decent). Kreider will either be traded (most likely) or a new contract in place prior to the start of the season. I hope your right about a 1st!!

The thing is on this, everybody says this, but would you rather do the same thing and capitalize on a trade rather than sell low? Me, I say keep him until someone ponies up. If no one does, let his contract run out. Rangers should be a bubble team, maybe they pull a Carolina with Ferland and use him as their own "rental"

Buch has said he wants nothing more than a 2 year bridge deal. Should come in around $2.5 - $3 mil cap hit. DeAngelo at $1.8mil for 3 years is probably not enough. Will also be close to $2.5 - $3 mil for 2-3 years. Trouba deal looks about right. Return for Kreider is paltry, especially with the Rangers retaining salary. I agree with the others and think Kreider, if traded, will bring back a first rounder and a prospect. I hope they keep Kreider and extend him for 6 years at $6.5mil, otherwise walk away.
