Van Declines change 3rd to a 1st and maybe..... stecher is 25 years old.. baer can score 20 goals.. when healthy.. why would the canucks trade stecher and baer, and take an extra year of lucic, a kid who just had two major surgeries, and a third. makes no sense from VAN standpoint

So in total Vancouver should save around $2.5 million on the cap and with boeser still needing a contract that would be very valuable.

even with the cap savings it should be a hard no from Vancouver. Lucic contract runs an extra year than LE and has to be protected for the Seattle expansion draft. so that means probably losing a young player and paying longer no thanks. only way would to be to add more assets in favour of Vancouver(like a first and another you prospect) and then maybe Vancouver buys him out just before the expansion draft
