**** .... still ?

Is it over , or under ?

I can't understand if leaf fans are over estimating Marner or under estimating my trades ? At least it is better than the last trade I made.

It's definitely too much value to Buffalo (and I definitely dont over value Marner). I cant speak on others over or under valuing Marner, but we need shutdown defencemen not risto, and Vessy is a third liner. If Marner is going to Buffalo its for 4 1st's. Ps I've really liked their off-season but they aint moving any of them. Try Minnesota, Columbus, Florida (although proceed with caution) as you need too look at their #1 dman in return. Check out my latest titled CBJ fans probably still say no lol.

So far I have learned is the guys I want to take, no matter how much I give , is never enough. So then I try to trade for their second guys that they might be willing to give up, but then I get hit with angry people telling me NOPE ... so IDK what to really do. I wanted to do a trade with Nashville but i got told they would never part with the kid. Same with players from Minn.. but I might try clumbus or florida but i have a feeling it wont go well

Don't worry bro, Everyone on here is like that! Im not trying roo be like that (just trying to help as you do with me) and yeah people get emotionally attached too their fav players. This isn't the best place to try and gauge fair value. Take your guys n say eff everyone else. Do your trade with Nashville I'd like to see it. Every player has a price if the great one could be traded anyone can. You will prob still receive backlash but who cares!! Be yourself dog

In no way is this fair or realistic, who trades a 94 point 22 year old winger and a 2nd round pick for a player who would likely be a 4th liner in TO and a defenseman who has proven to be the worst in his own end in the entire league over his career? A fair trade for Risto at this point would be the 2nd rounder and that's all. From a TO perspective he has nothing they need or want, other than being right handed. They have better puck movers in Rielly and Barrie, way better guys in their own end in Muzzin and Dermott and honestly everyone else they have as well. So there is no need. He would he a defensively liability at 5v5 and never get any PP time to make up for his deficiencies by scoring points. Holl would be better in TO than Risto because he's at least as good defensively, way cheaper and also right handed. Without PP time Risto has almost no value.

Based on the Miller and Montour trades you have a good point, yet IMHO I think Botterill will squeeze a lot more than that if he is traded. I do not think any defenseman needs to be traded unless it is a good deal. Ristolainen for a second is not a good deal.

Ristolainen isn't all that good of a player, he's pretty low on the depth chart now and if that's the case, how is his value high?

I do not think in any of my posts I have disagreed with your premise that Ristolainen is over rated and agreed that his value may be only a second based on the recent trades of Miller and Montour, I am only maintaining the Botterill will not trade him for a 2nd and if he does it will be for much more than you would ever think. I know every one thinks Botterill got robbed in the O'Reilly trade, but the return right now is more than Murray gave up to get him and O'Reilly devalued himself when he declared he lost his love of the game. Imagine how long Pasternak would be a Bruin if he ever said that. So I was making the point that Botterill will get more than a second or not trade him at all.

That is very optimistic and who really knows. I leave you with this question, how does Risto's value look when he loses PP time to Dahlin, and maybe even Miller, moves down to the bottom pair and sees his minutes cut? When that happens, teams will be looking at Risto as a potential low risk add, in that he won't cost much and has potential to find a niche if given a chance but the leash will be short. Much like Ceci in TO, he has a 1 year deal and if he doesn't show enough to be part of the long term, he's going to be let go or moved to a team that wants to take a flyer on him. Risto is steam rolling towards that exact situation.
