Nashville just traded Subban because they have Fabbro. Why on earth would they trade Fabbro for Ceci? I get that they also get two firsts out of it, but Nashville is really high on Fabbro.

I know they traded Subban, but they just didn't trade Subban because they felt Fabbro would replace him 100%, it was because they needed a 1st or 2nd center really badly, and have been needing one for years. Let's not turn this into some heightened sense into Fabbro is their Mc Jesus .... it was a good situation for them to trade Subban and to pick up what they needed most. Ceci would fill that hole, they get 2 first round picks, and next year they can replace the Fabbro hole with one of their depth defencemen players and use the drafts to get more depth.

Tavares can play with anyone and make them good. If Marner goes it would likely be Kapanen there I think

They obviously did need to dump salary for Duchene (and Jodi) but if you watched Fabbro play he was very much ready to fill that hole that Subban leaves open. If they wanted a guy like Ceci who is very much maligned they could move a guy like Turris for him.
Fabbro obviously isn't the second coming of Dahlin, but having him made Subban expendable to a good extend.
