When it comes to acquiring Laine, guys like Byron (even if he's useful) and Reilly really don't add anything. So Drouin + 1st will still need at the very least one of MTLs top prospects (Poehling, Suzuki, Brook, Romanov, etc.) going with them.

So what you're saying is it's not worth it then....agreed! Enough with the Laine trades already. (Sorry for the venting)

Drouin if his contract was 3.5 and a first could be a opener, but the sweeteners would have to be something Chevy can sell to his fanbase as a win, Manitoba boy brook and Suzuki would be a start, but I don’t think it knocks his socks off, and bergevin is making the phone call, I don’t believe wpg is calling anybody on laine, they have been here before with trouba, so I assume it’s arbitration and short deals til there’s a blockbuster, too early for it, because wouldn’t be selling high or back against the wall.
