Teams most likely backed out of Tanev because Pittsburgh offered something ludicrous with a NTC on top of it.

No, I said that there were reports that multiple teams wanted Tanev, but I had not seen any for Dzingel. The reports said that the starting point was $3Mx4, after the bidding between teams it ended at $3.5Mx6. 6 is weird, but not ludicrous. A 10 team no trade list is nothing difficult to get around.
