Tom Wilson is just too valuable to the Caps, especially after last season. I mean, he put up a career high in goals and points in 63 games played. If he continues developing his offensive game and continues the trend of not making huge, dangerous, bone-headed hits, he could legitimately be a 30 goal scorer and 60 point guy, who could potentially play the PP and the PK. That's also with his rights locked up for another five seasons at a pretty competitive price.

Not to mention, his existence in the 2018 playoffs against PIT caused Jim Rutherford to have an aneurysm and decide that he needed to stock up on "grit" in lieu of talent, so there's that value too.

These 2 don't seem like a good trade match. I mean Buch >>>>> Wilson so it's a tough premise to start from...

Maybe the Caps trade Wilson but not Djoos. I agree Strom has some value. Brendan Smith wasn't good 7yrs ago and at half the price. Buchnevich comes down to how much money he is going to want.

Would rather have Buch than Wilson.

Why? Wilson's numbers are inflated by playing with Ovi and Backstrom/Kuznetzov. Most wingers could get his level of points with that kind of ice time with eilte linemates. Buch is a year younger and just a better offensive player with worse linemates, plus he doesn't verge on being suspended multiple times a season
