There's a Turris to the Habs trade post out there that has them netting 93 first rounders for taking Turris. I think this makes more sense.

To dump that Turris contract there would need to be a sweetener of some sort. A second sounds right.

I love how Risto has essentially become a 3rd pair defenceman in Buffalo and their fans think he's going to net them a huge return. 5.4 million for a 3rd pair defenceman you don't want doesn't bring back anything.

First, he's became a third pair defenceman in Buffalo to the fans because of the trade rumors and if he starts the season with Buffalo he likely drops to the second pairing , is he a top pair D...no, but a good second pair D yes. Throw the plus/minus bs out the window, look at the garbage of a team Buffalo has had while he's been here. Mark my words if he goes to a good team such like Tampa watch how he flourishes when not having to play 25+ mins a game and always expected to stop the other teams top line. If the Sabre's weren't in dire need of a 2C or RW'er we wouldn't be having this conversation. He is the only trade chip Buffalo has other then their 1st round pick and Botterill isn't trading it. All you people do is look on the surface , Bobby Orr wouldn't have had a great plus/minus playing on this train wreck of a team.

5.4 million for someone how can only flourish when given sheltered minutes? Where is the appeal?

Then you tell me why the best team in the league (regular season) has inquired on 2 different occasions (trade dead line and at the draft) on him...he hasn't been traded bc Botterill learned his lesson with ROR that he has a player with plenty of term and not to trade him if you don't get a even return. In today's NHL 5.4 mil is a good contract for a second pairing D-man.
