This is stupid for the leafs (not to mention you completely ignored the cap with this trade). Leafs already have a PP QB in Rielly, and Barrie for the 2nd PP line, why would they trade their best player for a 3rd one. Not to mention another LD (gonna give Babcock an aneurism). What the leafs need is defense that actually play defense, Muzzin cant be the only one.

The idea that Dahlin is a power play QB first and not an amazing overall defensemen is laughable.

Oh he will be way better than both Rielly and Barrie ever will, don't get me wrong there. The point I'm making is this trade is super redundant for the leafs defense, they need to upgrade the right side, not the left. The price of downgrading their best player on their team was flawed too (not saying Dahlin is a downgrade but the loss of offensive depth is)

In this scenario, NHL do step it up and make luxury tax ceiling for next season. Matthews even say to Marner to come along and make a super team in Buffalo. WOW!

After the whole Kawhi Leonard debacle, I have learned of one thing ..... IF you are going to trade your super start for another, make sure he is from THIS city ... otherwise HE WILL RUN THE FCUK OUT !!!!

NHL is a different animal also, bringing in a luxury tax, some teams might as well close the doors, I wouldn’t mind a franchise tag possibly, to give a team a chance at keeping a franchise player in there city, but this is a slippery slope, and I think after Seattle, this cap may level off, or some small cities are going to move or fold.

I'm clearly talking about PK'rs, Muzzin is their best now, followed by Dermott, then Ceci (who isn't that great). What of my claims is wrong about Dahlin? he's not better than Matthews and probably never will be. However Matthews has a pretty damn high ceiling to compare to. Dahlin would be without a doubt the best defense on the Leafs (as stated in my second post here) but that doesn't justify the trade at all the Leafs already have a 1 and 2 LD and Dermott will be a 2 eventually as well.
