Sign Brassard for 2.5? Good enough.

Signing Vanek for 1.8 while Smith-Pelly has no offers? Questionable.

Smith-Pelley is 4th liner Oilers have infinite amount of 4th liners, Vanek still put the puck in the net last year. 0.56 PPG vs 0.15 PPG , Vanek clearly the winner for what the Oilers need which is goals even if its just as a PP specialist 3rd liner

If Smith-Pelly and Chiasson are on your fourth line, you win the Cup, with Smith-Pelly leading way with seven goals.

If Vanek is on your first line and top power play, you lose to that team in the first round. They're both good power forwards with good finishing skills. The difference is that one kills penalties and backchecks, while the other one will cost you twice as much.

lol just cause Smith-Pelley was hot for 1 playoff run 2 years ago doesn't mean **** now. Like I said Oilers have too many 4th liners no point in adding another

I like it. I'm not sure about Vanek though. If Marleau is willing to sign here for 2M x 1 year I'd prefer that over Vanek. Also I think Brassard gets around 1.75M - 2M on a 1 year deal.

Was more signing possible target I can't see Marleau here so its Vanek or Maroon. Report the Oilers were in on Brassard at 2-2.5M so just went with highest to see cap

Are we really in on Brassard? I think he'd be a good fit at 3C. Can you send me the link to that? I think max he should go for is 2M on 1 year deal. IDK how I feel about bringing Maroon or Vanek in, not great skaters but they really are our only options out there which kinda suck. There's also a possibility we package JP and picks to get a top 6 player.

Don't know how much interest was shown But Gregor says they inquired, and its also 5 days old before Dzingel and Ferland signed for cheaper then expected

JP trade still could be a thing.. hoping JP+ can get Buchnevich but likely just a dream

whoever we get, I hope we get a player around 25 and lower and can play C/RW who's right handed. Really a pipe dream but I like Rakell and Trochek but a closer one could be Roslovic, McLeod
