MTL decline both trades. Dach is the only value coming back, but we are losing a top3 Dman, Top 6 winger, 2nd line center, a B prospect in Fleury for a prospect.... and we're taking Seabrook ? Oh we got Saad, sorry.

Hawks got lucky in picking 3rd overall. They were willing to move back to 10 if someone took Seabrook. No dice. Sure they get 2 players in your deal. Tatar had a career year last year. But he had a really down year the year prior. Danault should be a 3c. Dach may be that right now. Why would the Hawks want to trade the best prospect they have just to shed dump a contract when there could very well be a compliance buyout coming. Why would Montreal dump 2 useful players for 1 prospect and 1 cap dump and a player that everyone is unsure about in Perlini.

Considering how much hawk fans (including myself) hate dach and that he was picked over turcotte or byram, we’d love it if he was the difference in getting seabrook outta Chicago.

I agree - incentive for Chicago to let go of their recent high pick while still re-cooping most short term value from Montreal.

In this scenario Montreal gets Caufield and Dach from 2019 while letting go of long-term secondary pieces.
Ultimate sell-high move which will result in a weaker team short term.

How many times have you seen any of the three play?

To be fair, both were consensus higher picks than Dach prior to the draft.

So what? Scheifle was a bottom third first round mock. Chevyldayoff almost got laughed out of the building when he made the pick. Everyone thought 3-8 was about the same this year. Some even thought Dach was the better pick. So it wasn't unanimous. I didn't like the pick either, but I'm not going to be upset over players I've never seen. Funny enough, the knock on both players after being drafted was skating.

I’ve seen turcotte a few times and he is ridiculously competitive and his physique is very similar to Crosby (5’11” 195 lbs turcotte, 5’11” 200 lbs. Crosby). He has amazing scoring instincts, great speed, and great two way play, albeit for his age. These traits will continue to grow as well.

Having said that, I still wanted byram more because of his number one d potential. I haven’t watched him live but am blown away by his instincts both offensive and defensive.

Then there’s dach........ what can I say? Good hands? Good playmaking I guess? Doesn’t know how to use his size effectively? Can’t skate like marquee nhlers these days? Dach is a player stuck in 2007. If he ends up like mark scheifele, I’m okay with him, but if he’s like Ryan Johansen or Ryan getzlaf, no thanks.

In conclusion, I literally don’t expect anything from dach because I don’t hold much regard for him. Turcotte will take time, but I’d be fine with that because it’s all about following the process. Byram may need a year in juniors too, but again, no need to rush. Dach is gonna be rushed in my mind because Bowman’s job depends on him. If he gets 50-60 points in a year, I’ll be amazed, cuz I don’t expect from him. I just hope we finish dead last so bowman can be fired and we have a chance at a true number 1 center lafrenerre. (I know I spelled that wrong)

Devils advocate: since having maatta, de Haan, Murphy, seabs, and Keith means we trade jokiharju, shouldn’t we trade Dach since we got Toews, strome, and Anisimov? Especially since clearly Stan hates promising youth. Huh? Huh? Thoughts???? I know I’m on to something!!!!!!!
