Good deal for both sides, at least it wasn't a Scott Darling contract (too many years to escape from if he turns into a one year wonder).

Binnington won't be a 1-year wonder. Toronto troll.

Not even close. Murray was shielded minutes when he won the cup because Fleury.

Good deal.

Not a good deal. When Binnington ends this contract he is an Unrestricted Free Agent, 1 Year Deal would have kept him Restricted Free Agent, so deal is pretty bad. So now Blues Rebuild in 2 years when Binnington leaves the team.

You still haven't actually spoken to me reasonably in the other ACGM, just being the natural troll. Comes Second Nature to ya. When you come to me reasonably then come talk boy/kid/special ed whatever you want to be called.

Issue is longer term would have meant even more $$$ per term.
Be happy with this because if next year he flops and becomes **** then you only have 2 years of it.

Seen it time time again where a team jumps on goalie after 1 year with lots of term and then regrets it later.

So meaning if he was bad we only had him on a 1-Year contract, but if he was good then we still have him as a Restricted free Agent meaning we could sign him long-term.

I doubt he wanted a one year contract. He can jump straight to his UFA years and force the Blues to pay up for him, or go to arbitration this year which is never good for the player's relationship with a team.

I think it's a good contact despite him walking into free agency, as it's less term but also less risk. As krakowitz pointed out, he just earns his next big contract as a UFA with the upper-hand, but only if he plays well.

Murray is by far the better goaltender. It's not even close.

this is decent. gives him two years to prove he can be a starter.

don't think the blues really need to worry about losing him to ufa, they should have enough cap space available for a long term contract.

well considering he was on waivers in Sept/018 and teams could have taken him let alone his manager putting him on waivers so 4 mil per a good contract, maybe for Binnington.

that's your opinion on the matter. But who won a cup without needing help from another goalie, and 2 who just got destroyed by New York islanders. Binnington stole games from all 4 teams.

Not quite. Murray was younger when he help us to win back to back and has higher upside than Binnington. Besides, Murray playoffs record was much better when he signed a brigde contract.

Ah, Beast, don't be so pessimistic. Maybe he'll be smart and realize his best chance at winning more Cups would be with the Blues.

Attack first again my friend.

Did I claim Binnington would turn into an one year wonder, protective of your player I see (just like I protect my team), I merely suggested that giving him a long term deal is a double edge sword and threw out an example; Darling.

Was that a reasonable conversation enough for ya.

Maybe you're right, but Agents only think $$$ so and at that point we would lose him for nothing, and that's when I would get mad.

That's how you get paid in a contract year.

Potential worst contract for 20-21? Time will tell.

Binnington has 7 more reg season games than playoff Games haha he’s good but nowhere near Murray. Murray won 2 cups and is still one year younger than him. Binnington also cost his teams games all 4 series. Maybe have him play an entire season before glorifying him to Murray’s level. I think he’s good but Murray during that first cup run was unstoppable
