Hardly improves Tampa's cap situation. Tampa is worse on the ice. Johnson has a NTC.

Tyler Johnson's full NTC says hell no to Vancouver. He's not leaving Tampa for Vancouver i surely wouldn't.

Thanks for you comments.
Two questions if Johnson would agree, does the trade make sense. Tampa needs RHD and Pearson would take Johnson's forward spot
The cap stays the same, Pearson playing in Tampa could easily get 20 or more goals (18 last year and 24 in '16-'17) and Tanev would be a solid top 4 defensemen.
Second, if the trade makes sense but not Johnson, who do you think Tampa would offer in his place?

Let's deal with one issue at at time, this trade, is it fair, if not Johnson then does any one else work instead?

If its fair or not, youre not helping either teams cap, so I dont know why either do this. Boeser contract is the most pressing issue for Vancouver

Well that is certainly a big help.
Try to stay on topic, is this trade fair and then the teams can deal with cap issues at another time?

I dont think the trade is crazy in terms of value. I just can't see any reality in which Johnson would agree to leave TBL on his own terms. Strong friendships, great cup aspirations. Why would he want to go elsewhere?

I don't know who you could get instead. There's NTC's on every player in TBL, pretty much agreement to take less for the security of being able to stay in the city. I don't know the details on all of those contracts
