People ofter conflate overrated w/ overpaid...At least I do. That's what makes this a difficult, but worthwhile debate. Maybe Risto could really benefit from not having to play top pairing minutes on a better defensive team. I don't know what his advanced stats look like, but they cannot be very good. I still think he'll be traded before his current contract expires, especially as Dahlin takes over as the team's #1 D (he probably will be next season anyway). He does have high offensive upside and he could really benefit from playing 2nd pair on a better team. I don't even know where he'd be a good fit. I was thinking NDJ or NYR until they made major upgrades this summer. Maybe MTL???

I wouldn't be surprised if he's moved before the start of the 2019-20 season ... also, overrated and overpaid are 2 totally different things. James Neal WHEN HE WAS SIGNED was overrated, but he isn't any more IMO.

Why is McCann overrated? The guy has great play driving ability, stick handling, skating and all round awareness. That’s why he thrived on Crosby’s line.

I couldn't think of anyone else for Pittsburgh. I never said he's bad. He just hasn't put up those numbers consistently and maybe people are overrating him a little bit.

Yeah some people think Simon is underrated because he has really good stick handling and possession driving abilities, but I personally think advanced stats are overrated. Do you think Sheary is overrated?
