Honestly I’d rather have Hudon or McCarron than Weise on the roster. Also, both of them will be signed.

If they're not going to play, whats the difference? Weise is only there to ride pine and be a 14th forward in case of sudden injury. Hudon and McCarron would rather play Laval than be the 14th forward.

I guess so. The only way I see Weise getting a roster spot is if the above happens, no younger players push for a roster spot. Although the habs might rather carry an 8th defenseman over Weise.

Yeah possibly but if ever they need an extra player they can always just send Weise down for a couple days and recall him afterwards. No one is claiming him. The benefit of Weise is that he'll shut up and practice hard with the guys and be a 100% team guy because he knows its better than the AHL. Hudon a wants to play, not be a 13th forward for 75% of the season like last year. McCarron might as well not be resigned if he's going to be a 13th forward.

Weise makes sense if the options are only Hudon and McCarron. He is however going to be sent down because they aren't the only options. Habs have Cousins, Thompson, Peca, Weal, Poehling, maybe Suzuki there and then Hudon and McCarron. So he will surely be sent down.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hudon is moved at some point, or a team takes a chance picking him off waivers. McCarron is most likely going to be a leader on Laval. I’d say that Weise is on the roster to start only if neither of Poehling/Suzuki make the team.

I'd be surprised if even then man, Peca, Thompson, Cousins are all battling for a spot a 13th and 14th forward. Weise is worse then those guys. I can;t see a scenario where Weise in in MTL unless Poheling and Suzuki aren't ready and the habs lose two of Peca, Cousins, Thompson and Hudon to waivers. The maybe he could find himself there only as the proxy 14th forward.

This above roster has Suzuki & Poehling on the team. Who would you have on the roster instead of Weise then?

Weal & Poehling are gonna make it. IMO. Thompson, Reilly and one of Cousins/Peca will be the final forward. Anyone not named will be in Laval or picked up on waivers.
