Not perfect but a known scorer

Description
Pacioretty`s possible decline worries me, but if there aren`t many trades out there is this worth it with a Vegas team up against the cap? Would Vegas do it, or would they prefer trading someone else? Also depends on theoretical waiving of NTC`s and NMC`s...

Vegas turns that down, a rebuild project in Poolparty, a terrible Dman and a couple 2nd round picks doesnt even get the ball rolling.

I don't know, Patches has a big cap hit and isn't the player he used to be. I wouldn't be surprised if it's an albatross contract by the end of it.

Word is Vegas wants rid of Pac.
Playing in ED's top 6 may deliver 30+ goals.
If Vegas eats $1.5 mill, done deal!
Well done..-~

Russell is dead money that brings nothing of value to a teams roster. Patches with Stone and Stastny was one of the top lines to end the years and in the playoffs. I wouldnt be too worried about him while they have that line together.

You can argue that if Puljujärvi is the main piece that you are taking too big of a gamble. He has double hip surgery at 21 years old and fighting the bust stigma already. I dont think he moves the needle as the main draw in a trade

I definitely see where you're coming from, but I'm not a huge fan of the "he was great with Stastny and Stone" line. I feel like there's much cheaper options that would also look great with those two.

A not as obvious reason for Vegas to do it is that it opens up cap room so they don't have to sell low on Gusev.

If McPhee gets rid of Pacioretty now, he is an absolute idiot.

Traded a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd for Tatar
Trades Tatar+suszuki+2nd for Pacioretty
Then trades Pacioretty for Puljujarvi+Russell+2nd+2nd??

Whats his next move after that, trading Puljujarvi and Russell back to Edmonton for Lucic and a 7th?

its in division as well, vegas would get a lot worse and Oilers much better getting rid of Russell and having a true Top 6 winger for once.
