If Grubi holds the fort well, and the defense stay healthy...that may be your Western Conference Champ next year. That's a good team with lethal scoring ability. Don't put them on the PP...they're gonna be good.

Hopefully they go after a left wing to play on the 2nd line (like Ehlers, Gusev). I know Sakic said that they felt comfortable with Jost playing 2C the upcoming season, and that he'll likely move to the wing after adding Kadri. But I think it's best if Jost can play centre for his development, so 3C makes sense imo.

Kadri had his best seasons playing with Marner as 2C. With Jost and Bura on the wing, you have 2 pretty unproven players with Kadri, which probably result in disappointing production from the 2nd line. (I know Gusev hasn't proven himself at the NHL too, but I think he'll likely has a better chance at reaching 50 points next season.)

Barberio won't be traded until later this season. I expect Graves to start at the Eagles (signed a 2-way contract for a reason). Either Byram or Rosen will start on that 3rd pair with Connauton or Barberio because two unproven players is a bit too risky. Barberio and/or Connauton will likely be traded when Cole is back Byram/Rosen have proven themselves in the NHL and Graves will be recalled

They are going to be a pain to play against, Landy, Kadri, Donskoi, Compher, Calvert even Bellemare all solid defensively. If the big guns are not scoring, they have enough pain in the ass fowards to shut down other teams top lines.

Thats what I like the most about their offseason, they will be tougher to play against while staying true to their identity

Totally agree, what do you think it takes to land either?

Saw reports that Vegas received offers containing a 2nd round pick + a low-level prospect or a lower draft pick. So I guess the 2nd (2021) and 3rd (2020 TML) or the 2nd + Nieto (retain 50%) would work for both sides. Nieto is expandable with Greer, Kamenev, Bowers and Kaut ready or soon to be ready for the NHL.

Ehlers will be more expensive. If Barrie wasn't traded yet, it would be a bit more easy since the Jets need a RD. They acquired Pionk in that Trouba deal so that fills their need for a bit. But their prospect pool is pretty thin at this position. I don't think Meloche will become a regular at the D-corps at the Av. I guess a high draft pick, a depth player like Nieto and a RHD prospect like Meloche might work, but the value is probably a bit off.
