Good thing Galchenyuk is too lazy. Hopefully he’ll be good with Pittsburgh, but god he’s awful defensively

I think he could hit 30 goals, 60+ points on a line with malkin

He'll be good and he doesn't need to fill a defensive role as a winger

Yeah, see this really is going to be the issue, because as I see it they are in the same position they were last year. They couldn't play Malkin and Kessel together because neither one really plays defense. And now you got the same mess with a less talented player.

Hagalin Trade was so dumb. He was so good defensively he allowed them to cheat defensively cause he picked up the slack

Every time I watched him play he avoided the high traffic areas and neglected to play defense. I am hoping we traded for him just to get rid of Kessel and can trade him elsewhere before the season starts.

yeah, it hurt. But he couldn't score to save his life. He'd skate down the ice 100 mph and then bang the shot off the boards. It was his go too move.
In the end he had to go. Malkin really needed better wingers. Kessel is really a great player. On his own line where the other two are good defenders.

I guess the whole issue is that galchenyuk is just kessel lite. Great shot, fast, bad defensively. The thing about kessel is that once he loses his speed he’ll be a very useless 5V5 player. I still think he has at least one more elite season left but he could tail off very quickly

yeah, I think he has advantages over other players though. Due to his cancer I think he might be juiced on supplements. I know that is a thing that can happen with that, and he has the puffy face of use. Something tells me if he lifted more weights he'd be really jacked with the HGH. So I think he can probably maintain his speed longer than most players since he gets a medical pass.

Keys for a successful Galchenyuk:

1. Stick him in a one-timer spot as often as humanly possible (both at 5v5 and PP).
2. Avoid putting him in a defensive situation at all cost.
