I feel like Kreider would have to be a part of it, not Buch

Can't see Boston trading Jake DeBrusk anytime soon. He's great for them and the package you offered isn't significant enough for the bruins to think about it. DeBrusk plays quote on quote "Boston hockey" Toughness and skill.

very easy no from Boston. no counter offer. No, "we'll think about it." Just a, "thank you for your offer, but we're not interested."

I mean you dump your worst contract, get replacement offensive production for debrusk, get a 2017 1st rounder and more.

Did I miss debrusk being cam neely?

is it? debruks is a top 6 projected forward as buch already is. Buch has a higher offensive cieling and not to mention lias being a top end prospect and reunanen is a B tier prospect with 2nd's being worth much more than they used to. Not to mention backes is a cap dump for 3 years. This deal has boston favoured written all over it. I would do buch for debrusk straight up.

27 goals, in 66 games for a guy still on his entry deal....prettay, prettay, prettaaayy valuable. Given that their tight against the cap, it becomes even more valuable.
There was no first rounder involved in this trade. Don't see where you're pulling that from.
Buchnevich is an RFA and will need a raise. Lias Andersson is kind of a nice piece, but this is a team that was one win away from a cup, they're not loading up on prospects, they want to win now.

They don't need to trade Backes this year, so I just zero motivation for them to do this trade.

You are overrating Debrusk here. Good player, but not the stud you think he is and he proved that in the playoffs.

dude, all you have to do is go to hockeydb to realize that literally none of what you said is true.

1. Debrusk is already a more established goal scorer than Buch. 27 in 66 last season. C'mon man.
2. Backes has 2 years left, not 3.

If there was more, I skipped it.

Lias Anderseon was NYR 1st rounder in 2017, no?

Also, you don't get to complain about being so close to the cap and skip over moving backes

he played the entire playoffs with a concussion that he suffered in the Toronto series.

This trade is trash. You know it. Debrusk was 40th in goals per game last season in the league. How many of those 39 ahead of him do you think are on their entry level next season? The answer is 1. There is 1 more proven goal scorer in the entire league that will be on their entry level deal next year. That's alex debrincat. You can sit here and tell me how this is good value until you're blue in the face, but you're ignoring the position the bruins are in. Remember four things.
1. They struggled with secondary scoring.
2. They won 15 playoff games last year and are in win now mode.
3. They are up against the cap.
4. Debrusk is the 2nd most proven NHL goal scorer still on his entry level deal.

The Bruins aren't entertaining discussions for Jake Debrusk.

moving backes would be great, but they don't have to do it this year. They can buy him out or move him to a team that can buy him out pretty easily in the off season.

my bad about the andersson first round pick thing. When I see someone mention a first round pick, I tend to think they mean a first round pick. Once a player with a pulse and a name gets drafted, they aren't a draft pick anymore, they're a player. The bruins have a few former first round picks that they would sell for peanuts right now.

my opinion on that is that they want to lock up Carlo long term, and are hoping they can move some cap around to do so. There's no rush on McAvoy, so he's likely the last to get signed.

Bruins say no, and so do we. We have Buchnievich and there’s no need to get rid of him for Debrusk. Our forward group is already good; we need to build around what we have and get rid of those who restrain us cap wise or are no longer needed.
