Once again, Stan Bowman shows just how truly awful he can be.

Did CHI really need the extra 1.25M to resign Perlini? If so, why bring in a kinda expensive Shaw for those draft picks when you know you're going to have to trade a good player from your roster later on? I find this move a bit confusing, and feel they could have done better trades to reshape the roster.

The hockey gods have spoken! There must always be a “Chiarelli” GM in the league. Stan Bowman is the new chosen one!!!

Good luck CHI

Getting rid of Phaneuf to have a guy sit in LTRI? Ottawa won that trade by a mile.

I get why this had to happen, but man I am really going to miss Zack Smith. 600 games over 10 years. Ottawa loses a big part of our community, and a huge leader in the room.

A great guy in the room and in the community! I really respect everything he's done for the community.

But it's hard to be a leader and a role model to a talented crop of prospects when you're the worst player on the ice every night.

That's a fair point, but Smith was far from the worst player on the ice every night. Not when you have guys like Paajarvi, Ceci, Harpur, Pyatt or Borowiecki.

Yeah, you got me. Pyatt and Boro are definitely worst. The rest is debatable but I get what you're saying

Im shocked at how many people believe that Anisimov is an outright win in this trade scheme. Too much EA sports. Not enough game watching.

Zach Smith is much better suited for a typical 3rd line role. Whereas, Anisimov isn't consistent enough for a top 6 role.
