lmaoo sam bennett would be lucky to get $2-2.5 mil. his last three seasons he's had 26 or 27 points, don't know how he would be worth 4.5 mil

Rittich could, Bennett not even close. Koskinen got 4.5m for basically doing the same thing. Albeit a mad man gave it to him. Bennett is a 3rd line winger and not even a great one. He won't even sniff over 3M IMO. Look at his comparables.

Why are you giving a 4th liner 4.5m per?

And about a week after giving Koskinen that contract, he was fired. Rittich won't get that much.

I definitely think Bennett's deal is nearly $1M too much on that term, and that Bennett's term is likely going to be lower so it may be closer to $2.75M AAV (freeing up 1.75M) [https://flamesnation.ca/2019/07/14/comparables-are-emerging-for-sam-bennetts-next-contract/]. I also think you may be a bit high on Rittich and a bit low on Tkachuk. Basically, yes the Flames likely have to move out one of Stone, Frolik, or Brodie without much salary coming back but I don't think they are in any significant cap trouble.

Well he's also getting 1M less than Koskinen is despite pretty equal statistics. I don't think 3.5M is that off base for the guy most likely to be your starting goalie next year.

You're correct, the Flames and there are lots of teams besides Leas that have cap issues as they want to to sign their RFAs.

No trades, bad contracts... pretty easy paint things the way you wNt them. Calgary is fine... but so are the leafs.

You don't sign a backup for $2.75m if the other guy is basically your starter. I think you're $1m too high on Rittich and probably $2-2.5m on Bennett. Calgary is fine.

Calgary needs to make two moves. Trade Brodie or Frolik. Buyout Stone. Then they're fine. Toronto has to move out a lot of salary to sign Marner, then have enough left over to fill the roster. Calgary will have stayed more or less the same, while Toronto has lost some key pieces, and will probably lose more.
