i think they are. lehner is gonna have a big year, he signed a 1 year deal to prove himself. i like the defensive addittions. i love the top 9. i dont get why they traded jokiharju. shaw should be higher up in the lineup

Wow, surprised at the "no's". The Hawks were one of the highest scoring teams in the league last year, if anything scoring has gotten better and they are definately feistier and tougher. The defence and goaltending just have to get marginally better. Undoubtedly there are questions...will Strome repeat, is Gustaffson for real, do Keith and Seabrook have anything left, will deBrincat regress, will Toews and Kane finally start showing some age, will Crawfors get hurt and Lehrner be a 1 year wonder..... etc.... but all teams have these types of questions.

Probably not. Their defense is a looming question mark and there's no guarantee that Toews and Strome have the same type of offensive season.

i think hawks make the playoffs . To many people are really biased against bowman . Hawks had horrible revolving door of ineffective checking line players and penalty killers . Bowman addressed this ( carpenter , smith , shaw ) these players also add grit snarl and leadership . Hawks defence was horrible could not hold a lead did not hit did not clear the crease and had problems playing against fast teams and had no true shutdown pairing . Bowman addressed this MAATTA , DEHAAN , a full healthy year of Connor Murphy if they can keep away from injuries and KEITH and SEABROOK dont regress any further this might be the best and deepest defence the hawks have had since 2010 cup team . Crows health issues made the hawks goaltending a question mark . Bowman addressed this if CROW stays healthy hawks have best goaltending tandem in the league if LEHNER repeats last years performance this might be the best goaltending tandem in the history of the BLACKHAWKS . So yes i feel hawks make playoffs so long as the offence can repeat or improve from last year they will be in the playoff picture

To early to tell. New players need to create chemistry. Untill then we will see. I say yes tho. Skilled, gritty, now physical team. Goals should come easy, we upgraded to a vezina caliber goalie. And upgraded defense. Call me crazy but I trust bowman and think he has done a good job this off season.
