Description

This is a much more respectable defense than last year. The PK will be middle of the league rather than dead last and the high powered offense continues. Hawks coast into a playoff spot last year with a halfway decent PK and with these acquisitions, I see a decent PK but also much better D core in general. 3 seed in the central for me... ESPECIALLY if Nylander turns his career around. And I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure playing with Toews and Kane could potentially jumpstart a young high skilled guys like Nylander into a star career

Kane and Teows will play in line 1 and 2, not in the same line. Dach is not ready and Nylander is not good enough to be a top 6 fwd

I don't think the lines will be like you're suggesting. Most of last season Toews played with Kane. Stan went out and got other PK guys like Carpenter and Smith so that Toews can focus on his offense. Smith is also a Center and the Debrincat Strome Perlini line was pretty solid last year. I personally see Saad driving the 3rd line with Shaw. Dach has been impressing people at camp. I'm not so sure he doesn't make the team. No one should expect a monster year, but getting used to the NHL between Saad and Shaw could be ALOT worse. Carpenter needs to be somewhere on this roster. 3 years @ $1M per...seemed like a win/win for both Stan and Carpenter.

Cat-Strome-Kane doesn’t work 5 on 5 because it’s not defensively sound. Toews and Kane will be on line 1. Cat and Strome will be on line 2. Also with De Haan out in October look for Boqvist to see a 9 game cup of coffee and re-evaluation. That makes Dahlstrom odd man out.

Cat-Strome-Kane is a power play unit for sure since they don’t have to play D.
