Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

Vegas could start the year with this lineup since they are not required to have 23 players even if it's not recommended.

After the first day of the season, they can put Clarkson on the LTIR and save his whole contract off the cap.

They can then sign Gusev (2 x 3.5) and Engelland (1x1M) and they will be compliant with the cap.

Problem solved.

Let's say Gusev accepts 3,5 and Engelland only 1, you have like 0,7M left... watch out for injury

It's fallacy to think Clarkson has to be put on after the first day of the season. He can go on LTIR at any time as soon as Vegas exceeds 81.5m.

That's why you have guys like Mckenzie, Hague, Whitecloud in the AHL that are ready to jump in if needed.

if he can go on LTIR all year long and cause no problem why Colombus give a 1st and a 2nd to get rid of him ?

Had little to with Clarkson's LTIR. Had almost everything to do with Columbus wanting Vegas not to select certain players in the draft. The only real effect an LTIR is it might affect a team ability to pay their Performance Bonuses in the current season or whether they have today them to following season. Really these LTIR trades are 99% nonsense.
